Starbucks Teams With Impossible Foods To Launch Plant-Based Breakfast Sandwich In The United States

Today, Starbucks customers across the United States can enjoy the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich available as part of the company’s new summer menu alongside new cold coffee beverages.

“We are pleased to add the Impossible Breakfast Sandwich, made with Impossible plant-based sausage, to Starbucks’ menus throughout the U.S., in order to meet the growing customer-interest in plant-based options,” Michael Kobori, chief sustainability officer at Starbucks, said in a statement. “Over the years, in response to customer interest, we have added plant-based milk alternatives such as soy, coconut, almond, and oat milk. We are thrilled to expand our menu to include plant-based food with this new breakfast sandwich.”

The Impossible Breakfast Sandwich is now available at select Starbucks locations throughout the United States.

Dr. Patrick O. Brown, Founder and CEO of Impossible Foods called “Starbucks’ commitment to add more plant-based ingredients to its menu a new benchmark for large corporations.”

The Impossible Breakfast Sandwich joins a growing number of plant-based menu items offered to Starbucks customers around the world. The company has stated that it is teaming with various plant-based vendors as well.

As previously reported by WAN, in April 2020, the company began selling lasagna and wraps made with Beyond Meat crumbles in China. In February, Starbucks also introduced a Beyond Meat breakfast sandwich in Canada.
